There are few experiences more rewarding than being welcomed into a community, not as a spectator, but as a guest. This intimate hosted experience takes place in the village of Barnes Ghaut, one of Nevis' most enduring communities, where daily life continues at an unhurried pace and neighbours still know one another by name. Rather than visiting commercial restaurants, guests are welcomed onto family properties in a village where traditional Nevisian dishes are prepared and shared with genuine island hospitality. WHAT TO EXPECT Between each hosted stop, your guide leads a relaxed walk through the village, introducing the people, traditions, architecture, plants and stories that have shaped this community for generations. Conversations unfold naturally, offering a glimpse into everyday life that few visitors have the opportunity to experience. The food reflects the island itself—fresh, seasonal and rooted in family traditions. Depending on the day and the season, guests may enjoy dishes such as baked or barbeque chicken, Ital vegan specialties, breadfruit, sweet potato, plantain, and seasonal tropical fruits harvested directly from trees along the way, accompanied by homemade juices and ice-creams or other traditional refreshments including local rums and soft drinks. More than a culinary experience, this is an invitation to slow down, share a meal, exchange stories and experience the warmth of Nevisian hospitality in the place where it has always lived—the village. Cancellation Policy
This event, tour or one day trip has a minimum number of participants in order to operate. If your booking is less than the minimum, we will notify you if we do not have enough participants to proceed. Once we notify you, you may choose to proceed by paying the minimum fee, or to opt out within the cancellation period without paying. If your booking is within 48 hours of the event, tour or one day trip, it is guaranteed only if we specifically contact you in addition to the receipt you received. We are looking forward to hosting you. ********************************************* Nevis Sun Tours understands that situations may arise when it is necessary to cancel previously booked events, tours or day trips. In consideration of our customers, tour guides, and service providers we have adopted the following cancellation policy: All cancellations must be submitted in writing by completing the fields in our cancellation form. Please reference the event, tour or day trip along with the date and time of the original booking. The date and time when the cancellation form is received by us will be considered the cancellation date and time in applying the cancellation policy. A refund is offered on cancellations made more than 24 hours prior to your event, tour or day trip. Cancellations made in less than 24 hours of your event, tour or day trip will not be refunded. Cancellations of events, private tours or day trips like the Romantic Day, or other tours specifically requested to be private, are refunded if made 36 hours or more prior to the event, tour or day trip. Private tour cancellations made in less than 36 hours of the event, tour or day trip will not be refunded. All cancellations may be subject to a cancellation fee. Events, tours or day trips which require tickets or registration fees may have cancellation fees which include the cost of the ticket or registration fee. Refunds on cancellations due to weather conditions are possible. In these situations refunds are granted if inclement weather caused the event or tour provider to cancel. Refunds are not issued for guests who do not meet at the agreed time and place for events, tours or day trips. Cancellations should be made by the person who booked.
