The annual Nevis Marathon and Running Festival caters to various types of participants –adventurous visitors, seasoned athletes, easy-going locals and children. Our event aims to promote healthy lifestyles, foster good camaraderie and develop children interest in sports.

It takes place on Nevis, a tiny Caribbean gem that is 36 square miles, which forms part of the Leeward Islands chain of the West Indies. The flight takes about 20 minutes from Antigua, 30 minutes from St. Maarten, 1 hour from the US Virgin Islands and 1 hour and 15 minutes from Puerto Rico.

The island is known for its balmy weather, sandy beaches, friendly locals, diversified and flavorful cuisine and easy-going lifestyle.

The Nevis Marathon & Running Festival offers a full marathon (26.2 miles), a half marathon (13.1 miles), a 10k run, and a 5k run. The race route starts and ends at Oualie Beach. While the full marathon course circumnavigates the whole island, the shorter distances trail eastward along the island’s main road with designated turnaround points.

It is a course that is easily navigated and it offers runners fascinating landscapes and interesting things to see, for example a vervet monkey. Ultimately, this is a multi-distance running event hosted in one of most beautiful places on earth.

The Nevis Marathon & Running Festival is scheduled for Saturday, September 2nd, 2023. Registration starts at 4:15 am.
